:: Hertfordshire Primary Schools' PE and Sport Conference: Securing a Legacy for Healthy, Active Children through PE and School Sport ::

Herts for Learning is delighted to support and work in partnership with Herts Sports and Physical Activity Partnership, Youth Sport Trust and Sport England to deliver their sixth primary PE conference. The focus for this year's conference is about securing a legacy for healthy active children through PE and School Sport; empowering, building, embedding. The full day will comprise of a mixture of keynote addresses, interactive workshops looking at areas such as 'effective use of the PE and School Sport Premium', 'active travel', 'Ofsted and physical education', 'safe practice in PE', ‘mental wellbeing’, ’inclusion’, ’school games’ and a question and answer session. After the opening address, headteachers and PE subject leads will have a choice of practical and theoretical workshops to learn more about the focus areas that are most relevant to their professional and school needs. The Keynote speakers will be: Ali Oliver, CEO Youth Sports Trust Jim McManus, Director of Public Health Hertfordshire
Outcomes:
By attending the conference, participants will:
  • develop ideas to become an active school and deliver the obesity strategy recommendation of 30 minutes a day at school
  • develop ideas for promoting health and wellbeing, including mental health in their school
  • gain tools to support ways to demonstrate their schools use of the PE and School Sport Premium
  • gain information regarding initiatives that can support the development of PE , physical activity and sport in their school
  • be more informed on how Herts Sport and Physical Activity Partnership, Youth Sport Trust, School Games Organisers and Herts for Learning can support their school
