:: SIMS Assessment Manager 7 using school data ::
Outline
This half-day course is designed so that delegates are able to analyse their own assessment data remotely from our training room, with IT services consultants available to provide guidance. There will be some formal training, however the majority of the time spent in the session will be for delegates to run reports on their own school data and ask seek advice where needed. Schools new to Assessment Manager 7 (AM7) in SIMS will also be able to complete the setup of the resources, as required. This course is applicable to any schools who are subscribed to the HfL Primary PA Plus (PPA+) assessment resources. This course can be taken on the same day as the ‘SIMS Assessment Manager 7 primary’ course if required. A second delegate from the same school, sharing a computer, will be charged a discounted rate. HfL have allocated six discounted places for schools sending a second delegate, on a first-come first-served basis.
Prerequisites
Please note that we will send instructions (to the email address used to book a place onto this course) for setting up a computer in school to be connected to remotely during the session. Please ensure that you book a place on the course at least a week before it takes place to allow sufficient time for your network support provider/technician to set up the remote connection. If this is not done before you arrive at the course, you will have to use our training dataset instead during the session. We will also require a permission form to be signed by the headteacher or deputy headteacher and returned to us (or brought with you to the course), otherwise the remote connection will not be possible.
Outcomes:
By attending the course participants will:
  • import resources and set up marksheets (if necessary)
  • have run various reports showing your own school’s data
  • gain experience of analysing data with support from SITSS consultants
  • increase your confidence in knowing where to locate different assessment information
  • understand how to interpret the various reports
