Outline
This course is aimed at school business managers and office managers and will focus on setting up and managing a finance office. We will look at how to set up financial records to ensure that these are held in accordance with financial regulations. Delegates will be able to ensure that basic functions and controls are maintained in the office. This course follows on from 'financial procedures for school finance staff - an introduction for all school finance staff', 18FSS/068A.
Prerequisites
Delegates must have attended 'financial procedures for school finance staff - an introduction for all school finance staff'.
Outcomes:
By attending the course, participants will:
  • have an understanding of financial procedures and regulations pertinent to schools
  • learn about the retention of records, effective filing and internal audit requirements
  • understand the importance of month-end and period end procedures
