:: Hertfordshire SEND Benchmark and Planning Tool launch workshop - South Hill Centre, Hemel Hempstead ::
Outline
This essential workshop is part of a countywide programme to introduce schools to the Hertfordshire schools’ SEND Benchmark and Planning Tool. This newly developed tool will provide Hertfordshire schools with a framework for discussion about their policy and provision for SEND within the good practice and statutory guidance of the SEND Code of Practice 2015. Using a collaborative, problem solving approach, schools will be able to highlight strengths and areas for future development against the expectations summarised within the Hertfordshire SEND Quality Offer.
Prerequisites
Limited parking - delegates are asked to park in the Water Gardens car park,a short walk away or Moor End Road car park
Outcomes:
By attending the session participants will:
  • understand the context for the development of the Hertfordshire schools’ SEND Benchmark and Planning Tool
  • be introduced to the tool and explore how the incremental statements can provide a clear structure for planning and identifying manageable next steps
  • consider how to use the tool to strengthen the knowledge and understanding of all stakeholders to support the journey towards exemplary practice
  • receive a copy of the Hertfordshire Schools’ SEND Benchmark and Planning Tool and guidance notes
