Outline
This course covers the essential information required for the effective management of asbestos remaining in your establishment. Areas covered include: - HCC asbestos policy and guidance - types of asbestos survey and understanding survey data - use of asbestos management plans - effective use of the permission to work procedure - incident management - asbestos works
Prerequisites
Please note different cancellation terms for this course which is run by the HCC Health and Safety Team: - bookings cancelled within four weeks of the course date will be charged at full price (unless a replacement is found) - bookings will be charged at full rate for non attendees
Outcomes:
By attending the course you will:
  • be able to implement effective practical management in your workplace including the permission to work procedure, annual inspections and reporting asbestos related incidents
  • understand your role and responsibilities in relation to managing asbestos where it remains in situ
  • be aware of where to look for further information and advice
  • be able to act as an authorising officer for the school and complete the permission to work log
