This creative and fun course will provide a range of opportunities for delegates to explore how books can enhance teaching and learning in mathematics. Advisers will use a range of resources to engage and stimulate young minds, which support the aims of the new curriculum: fluency, reasoning and problem solving. A jam-packed course, with plenty of ideas for planning a sequence of learning which will motivate and inspire pupils.
By attending the course participants will:
  • understand how books can be used to enhance a sequence of learning
  • gain a range of ideas, strategies and practical approaches for using books as a stimulus
  • explore how books can support a low-entry/high-ceiling approach to teaching and learning
  • identify opportunities for concrete and pictorial representations within a variety of books
