Outline
This two-part course will inspire teachers to support children to want to write.
Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will have:
  • a deeper understanding of how children learn to write
  • a range of practical ideas to get children to want to write
  • identified what children need in the enabling environment to encourage them to want to write
  • a clearer understanding of the place of ‘shared writing’ in both adult directed and child initiated learning
  • a deeper understanding of the physiological changes occurring in children and how these can impact on the writing process
