Herts for Learning Online
:: What makes for effective safeguarding? Headteachers session ::
Outline
In partnership with Hertfordshire County Council, we are running a series of half-day sessions for headteachers and one other member of staff or governor to support colleagues in schools to secure a culture of vigilance and to tighten their systems and processes for safeguarding children. It is a condition that the headteacher attends the session. Herts for Learning’s experience to date suggests that schools are fully committed to keeping their children safe but sometimes they do not know what effective practice looks like. To that end, the sessions will give delegates a clear understanding of what constitutes effective safeguarding ‘on the ground’. The presenters include: Helen Jones, HfL Education Services Director for Disadvantaged and Vulnerable Groups Frazer Smith, Local Authority Designated Officer and Child Protection guru Jeremy Loukes, HfL district school effectiveness adviser Marcus Cooper, Hertfordshire Senior Education Manager The dates and venues are: 19 January 2017, 6pm-9pm, at the Bushey Sports Club 23 January 2017, 1pm-4pm, at Beale’s Hotel, Hatfield 6 February 2017, 9am-12noon at Hertfordshire Development Centre 8 February 2017, 1pm-4pm at Manor at Groves Hotel, Sawbridgeworth 9 February 2017, 5pm-8pm at Hertfordshire Development Centre 23 March 2017, 9am-12noon at Beales Hotel, Hatfield You need only attend one session.
