Outline
This course will explore the core principles of successful assessment, recording and reporting of relationships education and health education (PSHE). This course will focus on increasing the confidence and skills of lead teachers to plan robust opportunities for the assessment of relationships education and health education and to be able to evidence the impact of teaching and learning.
Prerequisites
Please can delegates to bring any current PSHCE assessment systems or examples of pupil self-assessment or peer assessment along to share practice with other teachers on the course.
Outcomes:
The aims of the course are to:
ensure the coverage of appropriate assessment opportunities in the planned relationship education or RSE and health education (PSHE) curriculum
explore the core principles of outstanding teaching in RSE and health education and looking at how assessment underpins successful learning
explore the importance of teacher PSHCE assessment to successful learning and progression in the classroom
ensure successful AfL using self and peer PSHCE assessment opportunities
explore the use PSHE assessment effectively to guide planning
