:: Improving whole-school religious education ::
Outline
Prepare to develop practical changes to improve religious education (RE), teaching, learning and assessment across the primary age range. The course will provide accessible, classroom-ready examples of best practice in RE for all pupils in Early Years Foundation Stage through to Upper Key Stage 2. Delegates will have the opportunity to develop subject knowledge and understanding of religious concepts. Sessions are packed with inspiring content designed to support pupil’s religious and theological literacy. Practitioners will be equipped to improve existing schemes of work and current classroom practice.
Outcomes:
By attending the course, participants will:
  • gain understanding of a range of statutory requirements which underpin religious education and their practical application
  • develop whole- school RE planning to provide a high-quality RE offering and to enhance pupils’ religious and theological literacy
  • explore assessment methods to raise pupil attainment
