:: Mock employment tribunal ::
In partnership with our employment lawyers, Michelmores LLP, we are delighted to offer the opportunity to attend and witness a full 'mock' Employment Tribunal. Michelmores work closely with ourselves and specialise in the schools sector. This is one of their best events and we believe this new event represents invaluable CPD for school leaders, aspirant leaders and key support managers. It is also highly recommended for governing chairs, vice chairs and chairs of personnel/resources committees. This learning experience is difficult to easily replicate without a real-life claim and in a far less stressful and potentially costly way…. The event will include the opportunity to witness a staged hearing with a panel, claimant and respondent employer - and the opportunity for delegates to pose questions in the room. Pre-reading of the case will be sent to delegates in advance and there will be an adjournment for refreshments while the panel deliberate the evidence before the judgement is delivered and learnings are shared.
Delegates will be provided with pre-reading to familiarise them with the tribunal case. They should bring this with them for reference.
By attending the event, participants will:
  • gain invaluable first-hand insight into the workings of Employment Tribunals and take their learning back to their setting to enhance their knowledge and application in people management
  • have an improved understanding of the Employment Tribunal function, environment and remit
  • understand how evidence is presented, how cross-examination is undertaken and the procedural rules the Tribunal applies
  • build greater understanding of the risks associated with poor employment relations practice - and the potential impact and recourse
  • apply positive learnings from the experience back at their schools setting in how they lead professional practices with their teams
