Outline
This session focuses on the deputy and assistant headteacher’s role in ensuring that data is used effectively by school staff to improve pupils’ outcomes. The particular areas covered will include: - the interpretation and use of data from a range of sources - strategies for supporting teachers in developing their data handling knowledge and skills - the use of data to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of provision Please note that this session is part of a rolling programme which does not have to be completed in order. However in the past delegates have found it beneficial to attend all sessions in order to make learning connections between topics and to build professional relationships with assistant and deputy headteacher colleagues.
Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will have:
  • analyse and interpret from a range of sources
  • use data to identify priorities for improvement in standards and pupils' outcomes
  • support teachers in developing their skills in using data
  • use data to demonstrate impact
