:: Addressing the challenge of EAL and SEND in Early Years ::
This course is of particular relevance to teachers of pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and SEND, particularly those with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). The focus of this session is for practitioners working in EYFS settings, but skills learnt will be transferable to other phases of education. Delegates will learn about the most effective strategies to use to promote the development of language acquisition through all five stages of language learning from new to English to fluent. The challenge of addressing speech, language and communication needs for EAL learners and others will be explored with practical guidance provided on how to use the SEND code of practice to address these needs effectively.
