:: Assessment moderation cluster for teachers in Early Years ::
This moderation cluster is for those schools who have either not attended an EYFSP moderation cluster meeting or received a 1:1 external moderation visit. The session will enable delegates to validate their Early Years Foundation Stage judgements prior to statutory submission. Please bring examples of learning journals/evidence that supports judgements for at least three children of differing abilities. These should include a most able child, a child working comfortably within the expected level and a child from a vulnerable group e.g. PPG, EAL, FSM, CLA etc. The process supports discussion and moderation that will enable practitioners to feel confident in making their "best fit" judgements against the early learning goals (ELGs).
Delegates should bring their: - 2018 EYFS profile handbook - EYFSP exemplification (only if they have printed it out) - learning journals for their selected children - any other evidence that may be helpful
By attending the course, participants will:
  • agree levels for summative assessment using the EYFSP against the three attainment bands (emerging, expected and exceeding)
  • have an opportunity to take part in a joint agreement trialling task for two areas of learning
