:: Assessment moderation cluster for teachers of Years 5 and 6: cluster 13 - Borehamwood, Radlett, Shenley and Potters Bar ::
Outline
This moderation cluster is an excellent opportunity for Year 5 and Year 6 teachers to ensure they have a consistent understanding of the national curriculum standards and to work together to achieve the best outcomes for pupils. This year, to consolidate last year’s significant revisions to the Teacher Assessment Framework (TAF) for writing, we will again be focusing solely on writing. It is essential that delegates bring along examples of pupils' work from their class - please see the information that has been sent to schools and also available on the grid at: http://www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/assessment/ks2/moderationclusters.shtml
Prerequisites
Delegates will need to bring evidence as outlined in the teacher guidance document on the Grid - http://www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/assessment/ks2/moderationclusters.shtml
Outcomes:
By attending the session, participants will:
  • hone their skills in assessing pupils' work in writing
  • have opportunities to discuss how best to support these pupils to make progress in writing
  • gain useful ideas to put into practice
Suitable for:
  • Classroom Teachers
