Herts for Learning Online
:: SIMS End of Year using school data ::
Outline
This course, which follows on from the 'SIMS End of Year primary' course (17SIT/028P), will allow delegates to carry out the processes learned on that course, and contained in the end of year documentation we send to schools, on their own school data. Delegates can book onto both courses on the same day, if required. Delegates should have a basic familiarity of SIMS and have their own login to the system. Please note that we will send instructions (to the email address used to book a place onto this course) for setting up a computer in school to be connected to remotely during the session.
Prerequisites
Delegates should have a basic familiarity of SIMS and have their own login to the system. Please note that we will send instructions (to the email address used to book a place onto this course) for setting up a computer in school to be connected to remotely during the session. Please ensure that you book a place on the course at least a week before it takes place to allow sufficient time for your network support provider/technician to set up the remote connection. If this is not done before you arrive at the course, you will have to use our training dataset instead during the session. We will also require a permission form to be signed by the headteacher or deputy headteacher and returned to us (or brought with you to the course), otherwise the remote connection will not be possible.
Outcomes:
By attending the course participants will:
  • create the next academic year
  • set up admission groups and import Admission Transfer Files (ATF) if used
  • set up the pastoral structure
  • run the promotion routine
  • run the housekeeping routines
