:: Using PE and physical activity to boost outcomes for PPG pupils ::
Outline
The importance of physical activity for children and young people’s health is well established and there is increasing recognition of the potential of physical activity to impact on a wide variety of health and wellbeing outcomes and attainment. The course will help delegates understand the role that PE, school sport and physical activities can play in positively affecting pupil’s learning. The course will explore practical examples of PE, physical activity or sport that can contribute to PPG pupil’s outcomes. It will also illustrate research and interventions that can demonstrate improved outcomes.
Prerequisites
Delegates should bring their PPG plans.
Outcomes:
By attending the course participants will:
  • experience practical examples of activities
  • be able to reflect on their current use of PE, sport and physical activity, beyond the curriculum
  • be aware of opportunities to use PE, sport and physical activity to positively engage and improve outcomes for PPG pupils
