:: New and aspiring primary science subject leaders ::
This two-day course is aimed at teachers new to the role of science subject leader or those aspiring to take on this role. The course will provide participants with an overview of the role in terms of monitoring, evaluating and developing science teaching in primary settings.
By attending the course participants will:
  • have a clear understanding of the role of a subject leader
  • understand how evidence from a variety of sources can be used to self evaluate and complete a subject leader Self Evaluation Form (SEF)
  • understand how the subject leader SEF provides the basis for a subject action plan and how to plan, monitor and evaluate improvements
  • understand the need to monitor pupil progress and the requirements for accurate teacher assessment and target setting
  • provide ideas for promoting the subject both inside and outside the school
