Herts for Learning Online
:: Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) ::
WRAP is the Home Office's official training package on anti-radicalisation. Ofsted expect all schools to have accessed WRAP training. The minimum legal requirement is that all schools should have at least one member of staff who has attended the official WRAP training. (DfE 'Prevent' Guidance June 2015 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/protecting-children-from-radicalisation-the-prevent-duty). However HCC / Herts for Learning recommend that schools take this opportunity to ensure that at least two members of staff and two governors have attended WRAP. Sessions are a maximum of 1.5 hours and are free to attend for all Hertfordshire schools. (Schools who have had a member of staff attend the WRAP Train the Trainers course provided by the WRAP Police will already be covered. However, these courses are no longer available.) Please note: no refreshments will be available, only water.
By attending the course participants will:
  • receive the required Home Office WRAP training package, to raise awareness of PREVENT and to clarify the school's responsibilities for anti-radicalisation
  • receive certification of their attendance to assist discussions with Ofsted
Please note: no refreshments will be available, only water.
