Herts for Learning Online
:: National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches - full course ::
This two-day course is for teachers or adults involved in the supervision of swimming in a deep water pool. There will be an opportunity to work practically with pupils using rescue and resuscitation skills in the water and on dry land. Teachers will be able to discuss issues and ask questions related to their own pool environment. The pool depth is 2m 40cm and will allow staff to supervise swimming in a pool up to that depth. The Royal Life Saving Society NRASTC award is valid for two years (24 months). Please note the Edition 6 NRASTC - as of 1st January 2016 anyone wishing to update over 1 day will need to have a current NPLQ or NRASTC. By current the RLSS requires it to still be within its 24 month validity period, once expired all future candidates must attend a full two day course.
All jewellery will need to be removed or taped. A swimming costume and additional towels will be needed as training in and out of the pool. Use of 'Resusci Anne's', therefore please come dressed in trousers/shorts warm clothing.
