:: Fun, focused and effective primary science for NQTs ::
Outline
Course participants will review their approach to science teaching and learning and consider how to put the 'wow' into lessons. Participants will focus on different methods for pupils to record their work, improve enquiry skills and explore scientific understanding and misconceptions. Strategies for assessing and recording pupils' attainment in science will be explored. There will be the opportunity to carry out joint moderation of assessments of pupils' work, therefore course participants are required to bring examples of work from pupils of differing abilities.

Please note the venue for this course is the STEM learning centre, Bayfordbury.
Outcomes:
By attending the course participants will have:
  • experienced practical ideas and strategies to bring creativity and fun to their science lessons
  • explored strategies for effective learning in science through focused planning, marking and feedback
  • gained confidence in enquiry based approaches to the science curriculum
