Outline
This course is designed for newly qualified teachers and those who wish to develop their confidence in teaching the physical education curriculum. There will be a practical element with opportunities for discussion and questions. Participants will leave with new exciting ideas and resources to support their teaching.

Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will have:
  • an understanding of the requirements of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2 focussing on gymnastics and dance
  • explored what makes a good lesson, and how to plan a scheme of work
  • an increased understanding of ways in which to improve the quality of teaching and learning
  • explored Health and Safety issues in PE
  • observed a lesson and participated in practical activities with a focus on gymnastics and dance
