Outline
This termly two-hour update session is aimed at primary school computing subject leaders. The Herts for Learning computing advisers will bring you up to date with the latest news and resources from the computing world, with hands-on experience where applicable. They will also bring you any important eSafety updates. Each term there is a particular area of focus to discuss. This time the focus will be: computing assessment - a robust process. This will be achieved via discussion with like-minded individuals alongside examples from the advisers. There will also be opportunities to discuss methods of charting a pupil’s journey in computing through the primary phase alongside progression in certain aspects of computing skills.
Outcomes:
By attending the session participants will:
  • hear news and updates about computing in primary schools
  • meet and take part in discussion with other computing subject leaders
  • share good practice
  • discuss and see examples of assessment in computing, and computing journals
