:: What do you do if you identify a baby/child with bruises? - Lite Bite ::
Stage 2
Target Audience: Health Visitors, School Nurses, Social workers, Assistant Team Managers, Team Managers, Nursery Nurses, Child Care Workers, Children Centre Staff, Teachers, Police Officers, CAIU, Youth workers, Allied Health professionals, GPs
Aim of the Course: To enable the multi agency team to recognise the implications of bruises in babies, immobile children and support the identification and assessment of bruises which may have been inflicted on children non accidentally
Learning Outcomes:
  • To embed the practice of using the new HSCB “bruising flowchart"
  • To raise awareness of the Serious Case Reviews which led to the development of the bruising flowchart
  • To broaden knowledge on bruising in small children
  • To enable professionals to implement the bruising flowchart process
  • To ensure that fast, effective action is taken when referring babies/children with bruises to CSF
