:: New to Finance in Maintained Schools (non-academy) ::
This course should enable governors who are new to governance to gain an understanding of their role in the financial management of schools and develop their skills to meet their responsibilities.


  • to understand the key skills needed
  • to have had opportunity to practice some of those skills in a supported environment
  • to understand the types of reports you should see as a governor and how to read them
  • To understand a year in the financial life of a school and key reporting requirements


This session will:
  • Support new governors in developing their understanding of the financial aspect which governors monitor as part of their role

Cancellation of this training event requires 16 working days' notice before a 50% cancellation charge and if we are notified within 5 working days of the course there is a 100% cancellation charge. To cancel please email training@hertsforlearning.co.uk (cancellations will not be received by phone) otherwise:
  • non-subscribers are charged the full cost of the training (£50 per delegate)
  • subscribers are charged £15 per delegate.
