:: Becoming an Academy Cluster ::
This workshop aims to clarify the implications for governing bodies when considering converting to an academy. The workshop will focus on the differences in governance between maintained and academy schools and seek to answer the many questions that governors are likely to have.
To give governors a full understanding of the different structures of academy schools
To explore the implications for governance arrangements with each structure
To provide governors with an opportunity to consider the pros and cons of each academy structure and which may best suit their school’s needs
The workshop is not intended to promote conversion to academy status or any one model but to support schools in considering the implications of each academy structure model for their school.
The workshop will include the DFE’s latest views as expressed in the White Paper "Educational Excellence Everywhere" and the implications of the latest policies outlined by the DFE.
There will be a mixture of presentation, questions and discussion and can be tailored to enable discussion and consideration by the whole governing body attending the training session.
