:: Safeguarding Children: Designated Person - Safe Staffing Lead ::
Outcomes:
  • To recognise the role and responsibilities of the designated lead person for safe staffing
  • To understand how to manage allegations made against staff including the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
  • To develop knowledge of safe staffing and safe recruitment practices including the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
  • To introduce the "Prevent Duty", from the Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015, relating to anti-radicalisation
  • Updates from Private Fostering, Virtual School and Families First
Target Audience
  • Practitioners working within 0-5 yrs
  • Practitioners working within 5-14 yrs
Length of Course 3½ Hours
This course is only suitable for practitioners working in Early Years settings registered on Ofsted Early Years, childcare and voluntary registers (i.e. NOT suitable for maintained settings or Childminders). Each setting can book a MAXIMUM of 2 places on the course - this should include practitioners with designated Safeguarding Children responsibilities. The cost of attending this training course is £30 Ex VAT (i.e. 3 Training Credits).
