Getting it right for all children in Hertfordshire
Outcomes:
  • Keynote presented by Prof. Iram Siraj OBE, MA, PhD, D.Letts, FRSA, FAcSS (University College London, Institute of Education)- Supporting children's sustained, shared thinking and emotional wellbeing through the SSTEW Scale. The keynote will explain what is meant by effective relational and intentional pedagogy and key concepts within the SSTEW scale, such as high quality interactions, self-regulation and language development and why these are important. This will be followed by a workshop delivered by Iram Siraj to introduce the SSTEW Scale and its content, analyses of DVD clips of good and excellent practice in sustained shared thinking and emotional wellbeing
  • Childhood Support Services will be presenting an update on the 30 hours trial
  • Acorns Teaching School Alliance will be delivering a workshop, "Putting the child's needs first: Fulfilling children's emotional needs over 30 hours"
  • CBiS will be delivering a business support workshop, "30 hours - Making it work for your setting", taking a reflective look at 30 hours delivery, what that means, where you are now and answer some of the most pressing questions or concerns that childcare leaders currently have
  • Herts for Learning Early Years team will be delivering workshops to embed key messages from the keynote speaker, including identifying the leader's role in monitoring teaching and learning, and developing children's resilience
  • There will be a marketplace with advice and information from Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Board, Bookstart, Virtual School, PACEY, Herts Fullstop and Childhood Support Services

Please note that this conference is fully funded and FREE for leaders and managers of early years settings who provide places on the Free Early Education (FEE) scheme. There is a limit of 1 place per setting. This conference is FREE to attend.
