:: Child Protection Training for Designated Safeguarding Persons ::
To understand your role and responsibilities as designated safeguarding lead for child protection
  • To have an understanding of relevant legislation and guidance relating to safeguarding children
  • To update your awareness of significant harm and indicators of abuse
  • To know the procedure for reporting suspected abuse
  • To develop knowledge of the role of assessment, planning and review and recognise your role within multi-agency working
  • To understand the process for reporting allegations made against staff
  • To develop knowledge of Herts Safeguarding Children Board (HSCB) procedures and website support
Length of Course 3½ Hours
The pre-course requirements are that delegates have attended a Level 1 Awareness of Child Protection course within the past 4 years and have the role of designated person within their setting. There will be an opportunity to network with other designated persons for support and to share examples of good practice. The cost of attending this training course is £40 Ex VAT (i.e. 4 Training Credits).
