:: Improving outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in the EYFS ::
Outline
These twilight sessions will look at current research on the achievement of disadvantaged and vulnerable children. Guidance will be given on best practice around interventions, and effective strategies that can be deployed to promote progress and improve outcomes. Opportunities will be provided for delegates to reflect on their own school data and develop bespoke plans to diminish gaps between disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils and their peers. Schools may wish to consider the use of their pupil premium grant to fund attendance on this training.
Prerequisites
Delegates to bring current summative data from cohort to use in the session. A gap task will be given at the end of the first session.
Outcomes:
By attending the training, participants will:
understand current research and the implications for practice
explore effective interventions to promote progress for children at risk of underachievement
develop strategies to evaluate interventions and confidently demonstrate impact
